It doesn't take much to forget how many amazing women work in this city. This week I had the pleasure of being a guest of Whitney Rhodes (president of the Tacoma Downtown Merchants Group) at The Fund for Women and Girls Luncheon at Hotel Murano. Just in walking into the space I was struck by not only how many women I knew but how many had gathered for this event. It was inspiring to see all these women together supporting each other and others that need our support. Now I know this isn't the start of a non-profit or something even for profit but in just that one day I realized there was something more to celebrate. Us. Women have worked so hard to make an impact in this world and sometimes we forget that we are doing that right now. Look around the streets of Tacoma for example. How many more women do you see then men? It is happening and it is time to talk about it.
